We know that it is wrong for us to commit idolatry. I hope that we see it as a sin to trust in anything for our life, sustenance, or contentment other than the Lord. However, why is it really wrong to commit idolatry? How is idolatry such a smack in the face of the living God? Why is it absurd to want to be an idolatrous person when we have the Lord and His gospel? What is the real motivation for wanting to put off this sin?
