Simon the Zealot was willing to make war in order to see the rightful king sit on the throne in Jerusalem. This is a courageous act to make sure that Christ sits upon the throne of David. However, our Lord does not see this act as being courageous, nor consistent with the kingdom that Christ brings. Why is this zeal wrong, and what does Amos have to say about the coming kingdom?
