Lord’s day 10 of the Heidelberg further defines the sovereign providence of God. As we appeal to Matthew 10 we listen to Jesus sending out the disciples to preach the message of the kingdom. There is the assurance that this message will not be received well, but the disciples are to go from village to village declaring that the kingdom is here. It sounds strange that the disciples would do this facing death, but Christ assures them to rest in the sovereign hand of the Lord who grounds this kingdom.
