We think of Daniel as being pious, protected by the Lord, and one who desires what is best for Israel. There is no denying that these claims are true, but how is Daniel short sighted? If Daniel receives revelation from the Lord he would see the full picture right? How does Gabriel’s revelation regarding the 70 weeks encourage us? How is this prophecy still binding on us?
