The tribe of Judah is destined to bring forth a king from their midst. We notice that they are also the tribe that is to take the initiative in holy war. Judah is to lead the people of Israel in holy war. There are victories as they cleanse the land. However, are all these victories according to the law and standard of Moses? Are there failings in this text? What do these failings tell us about the tribes of Israel?
