Helpless Before a Just Judge (John 3:16; LD 6) | 2010-2011 Catechism Sermons

We know that when Christ entered history he took on the flesh. As John’s gospel begins he clearly states that the second person from all eternity took on human flesh. Why would Jesus Christ do this? Why is this necessary? Does Christ in some sense cease being God? Is God doing this just for some sort illusion or drama? Or is this necessary for our salvation?
