Gilgal is the place where the Lord cut off the river or rolled back the river. It was the Lord who cut off the water so that Israel could enter the land. Now, the Lord states that this place means, "rolled back Israel’s shame." What does this have to do with circumcision? Why did this generation escape the circumcision in the wilderness?
